Also at the market – fall is coming! For the first time I saw cashmere/silk sweaters for sale (50€). The market is thinning out – there were fewer stalls than last week and the week before. Seems like everybody is out of town! Yesterday when we were in a ritzy area near the Champs-Elysées, almost every store was closed for all or part of August. At least in our area, there are plenty of stores still open.

On the way back from the market I saw a man walking his dog. He was literally standing under the sign which reads roughly “I like my neighborhood, I pick up after my dog” and letting his dog drop a load. Not 20 steps later, the guy threw his cigarette butt into the gutter, and another 30 steps later, the dog pooped again.
