This is slightly out of order, but I wanted to go ahead and put it here. This is the completed mural on our street. Neat, huh? But I haven't the foggiest notion what this scene of what appears to be depictions of Mayan civilization has to do with our street.
For the curious, above the painting is a Victor Hugo quote which translates roughly "The walls walling Paris make Paris murmer." Substitute the work "complain" for the word "murmer" and you have a better idea of what the quote is about - Paris officials erected walls to enforce tariffs, which upset farmers, who had to pay tariffs to bring their goods to Paris markets. The quote has absolutly no relation to the painting.
