This is our apple from the canoe trip. Actually, we think it might be a pear - it is rather mis-shapen for either fruit. We will probably cut it in a day or two, although we don't expect to eat it. Pear or apple, it probably isn't ripe.

Did you ever eat your apple? It looks like a quince to me. They are similiar to a pear/apple combination.
We tried the apple - it was rather green, although it did have some of the texture of a pear, so maybe it was a quince. I am not familiar with quinces. Whatever it was, it was sour and not really ready for eating.
